Many of the pashmina products currently available are either poor in material quality or high in price. bombay lime aims to sell quality pashminas at competitive prices.

What is Pashmina?

"Pashmina" is a Persian word derived from the word "pashm", meaning "finest wool fibre". Every summer, Himalayan farmers climb the mountains to comb the fine woolen undercoat from the neck and underbelly of Himalayan mountain pashm goats. These animals live in the region of 12,000-14,000 feet above sea level in temperatures of down to -40°C. For many years, this wool has been used by the weavers in Kashmir (from which the word "cashmere" was derived), the disputed territory between Pakistan and India, to weave into shawls, wraps and scarves.

bombay lime pashmina is a blend of 70% Pashm Cashmere Wool (the crosswise "woof" thread) and 30% Silk (the lengthwise "warp" thread).
